Celebrate Life celebrates #Madiba100

The Celebrate Life team celebrated Madiba´s birthday on 19 July 2018  with the incredible Vukazame Centre, working to clean up the community.

The team spent their 67 minutes cleaning up two areas in the community where there was a huge collection of rubbish.

“It takes so little to make a big difference – a lesson that former South African President Nelson Mandela taught us. This is why it was so fitting to spend what would have been his 100th birthday working with the Vukazame Centre to clean up the area, feed the creche and bake bread and goods for the members of the community,” comments Celebrate Life Founder and Director, Cherry Armstrong.  “Experiencing each member of the Hammersdale community working towards a more sustainable future together shows how strong a united front is.”

Through the Ubuntu Breadmaking Oven Project, bakers at the centre baked bread and snowballs and sold their delicious goods to the local community.

A big thanks to DRG Outsourcing– their team spent the morning making sandwiches and collecting stationery for Gugulethu Creche in the area. This company offers never-ending support to Celebrate Life.
