Bread Making Oven at Sherwood Hospice

We are proud to announce we have installed an oven at Hospice in Sherwood.

As cancer and HIV have been so much part of my life as a palliative care nursing sister, this is a project very close to my heart.

The breads made daily will be going into food parcels for the HIV patients in communities who have no means of getting food as they lie ill in the rural outbacks.

I am passionate about this and maybe we can install a second oven there in the near future. Thank you Nico.

Savannah Park Oven Project

Celebrate Life visited Zame and Lindiwe at The Womens Organisation of Savannah Park, west of Durban. Their projects in the community are so humbling and it is here that women took the initiative to grow their own vegetables to put food on the table. They sell their veggies to the community and grow anything from herbs to butternut.

We decided to donate a bread making oven to them to enable them to feed the orphans and sell to the community. The oven was installed this week and the ladies were given 3 days training to enable them to be the best bakers ever!

Empowering another Community

Marianhill Bakers 09

Gladys Zulu has taken on her new oven project in Marianhill with an energy like no other. Up early in the mornings with fellow bakers, Zethu and Ntombi, they bake bread, snowballs, chelsea buns and pizza's and have found a good niche in the community to sell their products. Their enthusiasm is catchy and they are a delight to mentor. Women empowerment is so important going forward in South Africa and it's wonderful that Celebrate Life is paving a way for this to happen. The ovens are fired by a small wood fire and bakers can bake 4 loaves of bread every 25 minutes. Such an awesome sustainable project.

Thank you IQRAA TRUST!

A heartfelt thank you to the IQRAA TRUST South Africa for donating 5 ovens for our oven projects, enabling us to empower women by assisting them to own their own bakeries as well as feed local schools and orphanages in the area.

The first of the ovens was launched in Marianhill and we're hoping it will be a roaring success. Three of the ovens will be given to Vision 153 in Ballito to aid them with their wonderful feeding schemes.

We will keep you posted on the placement of the 5th oven.

Thank you to the IQRAA Trust for helping us help others.

Oven Launch with Vision 24

Wow ...and accolades to Vision 24!  A feeding scheme looking after the needs of 1200 people in the North Coast Communities... The first oven initiative has been  launched with them with the view of placing many more within Vision 24 to cater for the needs of the people. Well done Christmas Fair Fund and Vision... may we have a wonderful future between Celebrate Life and yourselves. I am blown away by the cheerful commitment you all show in looking after the less fortunate - wonderful and humbling to partner with you. Thank you.
