World TB Day with THINK and Celebrate Life

Celebrate Life SA and THINK (TB and HIV Investigative Network) joined forces to empower children on World TB Day. Dr.  Kristina Wallengren (CEO of THINK) and Cherry Armstrong (Director of Celebrate Life NPC), gave a wonderful presentation by Siyabonga Nzimande, Community Liaison Officer, on the signs of TB and stressed the message that it is curable.  A mobile clinic was set up for TB Testing for those who wanted to get clarity on their status.

We were privileged to have Njabulo Madlala , the infamous Baritone singer from London and  2 of his singers, Simon and Bongiwe, to sing and give a message of “Inspiration” to the children. They can be seen at the Playhouse Theatre this week where Njabulo is training young and aspiring singers.

THINK is an NPO that conducts clinical trials and currently has one under way for a new medication for TB which is expected to be launched in USA next year.

Celebrate Life SA empowers and uplifts rural communities and protects wildlife and our heritage. Cherry is the director of Celebrate Life but has involvement with THINK as the Clinical Research Coordinator on Clinical Trials.
